Appointment Check-In

(Before entering salon, please allow extra time)


  • Call upon arrival 5 – 10 minutes before your scheduled service.

  • *Face Masks are required for ALL guests before entering the building not just our salon.


  • You will be asked to use our hand sanitizer before entering the salon.


  • Every client will be required to sign a consent form (attached below). You may also print and bring to your first appointment.



  • A team member will take your temperature with an infrared thermometer (State of IL requirement).

  • Once cleared, you may enter the salon.


  • You will be required to wash your hands with Hibiclens Soap. Please do not touch your phone once your hands are clean.


  • Limit as many personal belongings as possible (coat, purses, cell phones).


  • Only clients receiving a service will be allowed in the salon.


  • At this time, no one under the age of 18 years old is permitted. Please plan accordingly. 


*Your mask (covering nose & mouth) is required to stay on during your appointment. If you refuse to wear a mask, you will be asked to reschedule.


Client Safety 

  • We will be operating at or under 50% capacity.

  • Three-part cleaning process for implements

  • Dry Heat  Sterilization– All metal tools are placed in our FDA approved, hospital-grade sterilizer.

  • Social distance guidelines implemented between stations.

  • Plexi-glass will be installed on the manicure station.

  • Products used during services have been individually packaged. 

  • Proper cleaning with an EPA disinfectant will be performed by BL team members before and after each client. Extra time for this cleaning is built into our schedules.

  • Appointments ONLY. No walk-ins.

  • We are temporarily suspending beverages, cookies, magazines & BL Punch Cards (rewards program) 

  • Nail Kits and A-la-Carte items will be available for purchase and stored for personal use in the salon.

  • Streamlined check-out process 

  • Payment options include cash, check, and credit. Cash payment must be exact and in a baggie. We will not give change.

  • Tips are appreciated when placed in a bag and given it to the stylist.

  • If you are not feeling well or come down with symptoms of any kind (cold, allergies, COVID), please reschedule, or please don't be upset if we ask you to reschedule. 


  • Our cancellation policy will remain fluid during this period.

    • However, no shows will be charged 100% of the service price.  We are operating at a deficit due to the requirement to close for three months. Please be respectful and considerate of this fragile time for our small business as well as all small businesses.

  • If a customer has COVID-19 symptoms, they should wait to enter premises until they have had no fever for at least 72 hours, other symptoms have improved, and at least 10 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared

Team Training: Conducted by a Surgical Nurse


  • Proper procedures for sterile operations including:

    • Mask and glove removal

    • Hand washing

    • Service protocol

    • Pre- and post-service break down/set up

    • Dry Heat sterilization (FDA approved)

    • Client check-in/Check-out

    • Complete Barbacide COVID training.



  • Daily temperature checks and screening questions

  • Stylists must wear:

    • Smocks that can be wiped down between clients

    • Face masks

    • Gloves





Before & After Appointments


1) Clean Implements

  • Step 1:  – All implements are washed with hot water & soap to remove deposits and buildup.  

  • Step 2: – All metal service tools are placed in an EPA- approved disinfectant for the required 10-minute total emersion. 

  • Step 3: - Dry Heat  Sterilization– All metal tools are placed in our FDA approved, hospital-grade sterilizer.


2) Before EVERY service

  • Double handwashing for nail stylist before each service

  • Surgical gloves & masks required for all nail stylists while performing services.

  • Single disposable use for all non-metal tools, including files and buffers used once and discarded.


3) After EVERY service

Disinfect with EPA-approved cleaning supplies:

  • Chairs

  • Station

  • Lamp

  • Knobs

  • ALL bottles used during service (i.e., base, top, polish, polish remover, etc.)

  • Pedicure Carts 

  • Pedicure chair (headrest, armrest, base)

  • Pedicure bowls (liners are disposable)


4) Safe and Quality Products

  • Safest and highest quality products, including Jessica Cosmetics, non-toxic, ethical polish, and nail care treatments.


5) Salon Disinfection Processes

  • CDC-recommended disinfection standards and EPA-approved cleaning supplies.

  • Daily cleaning and disinfection of salon throughout the day.
